Cons:
music slows down after 10

PH is located in residency road opposite Zero G, its a very small place on the second floor and very hard to spot.
Its rock pub no doubt about that but more of classic rock and hard rock and if your
a metalhead, your better off going to styx.
This place focuses more on alternate rock, punk rock and classic metal like metallica and maiden and if you want some thing more heavier then don’t even think about it. The DJ’s there don’t even know some of the heavier bands, example the last time i went there i asked him if he could play some Children Of Bodom and there was a big question mark on his face, the dude didn’t even know what i was talking about.
But don’t get me wrong this place rock in its own way. There are more Linkin park fans than slayer or sepultura and thats the sort of crowd that comes to this place. If linkin park is being played then you’ll see the whole pub singing along but play something heavier(which they won’t) you hardly see the same response. This place as a very decent crowd and girls might even enjoy this place even if they are not into rock in a big way.
The saddest part of this pub is that till about 7 pm you’ll only hear retro stuff like Hendrix or doors but after that the tempo will rise and by 10 pm it’ll drop down again. After playing metallica or something on the same lines they’ll play something like Goo Goo dolls, which is so annoying when your half drunk and want to do some serious head banging.
They have a cover of 300 on saturdays and according to me its not worth it perhaps if your not so much of a hard rock or an heavy metal fan then you might end up having a good time.
the place gets packed very fast especially on weekends and fridays between 7 to 10 pm is the best time to go to this place and may be after that if you want some thing heavy then you might think about going to Styx.
one more sad part, if you’ve been there atleast three time you’ll guess what song they’ll play next coz they play the same things over and over so after a while you’ll get tired.
If your going out with a big gang of friends who just want to freak out then it might be the right place but not if your looking for quality rock.

Purple Haze rocks in its own ways and can’t be compared to heavy metal pubs like styx
